Meet Courtney

Courtney Resch is the premier hair stylist in the San Diego area and the region’s most beloved and trusted beauty expert. Her expertise in color theory and free hand hair color techniques, exceptional business acumen, and unmatched people skills have made her a force to be reckoned with in the industry.  She has a natural eye and a gift for hair. She truly caters to those lucky enough to get into her chair.  She has an elite clientele and a deep love and passion for hair and people.  Courtney is an industry master; she not only became an educator for elite product lines, hair and fashion shows, and advanced academy classes across the US, but she also created her educational program, teaching freehand/open-air hair painting to industry professionals all over the world. Courtney is currently launching her own hair color tray and foil line.  Courtney has been in the hair industry since she was 16 years old when she started at an upscale salon as a receptionist while in high school. She has grown up in the hair industry and has worked every position and title within it.  She has been at Ashen Salon in Windansea since it opened in 2007.  Since then she has worked her way to successfully build Ashen Salon to the magic that it is today- a highly sought after Salon, brand, name, team, and space(s) always full of kind, professional, and highly trained Stylists and staff.

Courtney is currently hitting the pause button on client appointments to tackle some behind-the-scenes magic. 🪄✨ But don't worry—she's still here to help you find your perfect stylist match! I started my career in 2017 here at Ashen Salon, where I started as an assistant and now am a proud stylist. I am a San Diego native with a New Yorker's work ethic and state of mind. I'm deeply passionate about all things hair and beauty and take my profession as a stylist behind the chair very seriously.  I specialize in creating unique, custom hair colors for brunettes and blondes, ensuring each client receives a personalized experience. Committed to continuous learning, I've attended workshops at Salon Nine Zero One, Erik Guttierrez, Masters Of Balayage, Unite, and more. I mix various techniques per client dependent on each of my clients hair texture and desired outcome.  I pride myself on my ability to provide consistent, non complacent, customized hair coloring and cutting. Although I am young, I am an old soul and relate well with people of ages and backgrounds.

Since diving into the world of hairstyling in 2020, I've been on a journey filled with creativity and passion. Armed with licenses in both cosmetology and barbering, I bring a blend of expertise that caters to everyone, regardless of gender. I thrive on staying ahead of the curve by constantly updating my skills through workshops and classes, ensuring I can offer you the latest and greatest in hair trends.

Precision cutting is my forte, and I love nothing more than sculpting hair into works of art. Curly hair? Consider it my playground—I specialize in taming those gorgeous curls and making them shine. But that's not all; highlights and color are where I truly get to unleash my creativity, adding that perfect touch to elevate your look.

Meet Siobhain

Hi, I’m Siobhain Kerry! My passion for creating beauty began in 2014  at Paul Mitchell the School. After building a thriving business in New York, I’m excited to embrace my next chapter here in California.

I’ve had the opportunity to train with amazing brands like Kevin Murphy, Goldwell, Wella, and Paul Mitchell, honing my skills in color balancing, lived-in blonding, vivid color, and dry cutting techniques.

I truly enjoy the journey of uncovering the stunning individual within each of my clients and making every step of your hair transformation unforgettable!

Meet Kelly

I’m an east coast girl- I grew up in New York and New Jersey, moved to Rhode Island after high school,  which is where I attended Paul Mitchell the school in Rhode Island in 2009. I worked my first years assisting outside of Boston and eventually worked at a salon in Rhode Island where I worked with an awesome team of stylists for years - who are all still good friends to this day. I eventually decided for a change and went for a cross country trip that turned into life in San Diego. 

Since 2015 I’ve had the privilege of working at awesome salons among the city’s most talented. I’ve attended multiple razor cutting workshops hosted by pros such as Jayne Matthews, Vidal Sassoon Academy,  and industry leaders from R+ Co. Mastering this technique has transcended my haircuts to being perfectly effortless shags, dreamy layering and natural texture like you’ve never been able to make happen before. I’ve attended a life changing curly hair workshop from my friends at Curlcraft that helped to break down cutting and styling curly and wavy hair in a way that has inspired me to share my knowledge with every client who will let me.  With a passion for hair color and a love for learning the latest technology, I am constantly trying new techniques and color lines, and am well versed in the usage of various color and product lines including Davines, Original Mineral, and Kevin Murphy. Clean beauty is a passion of mine, and I am always obsessing over what clean color lines are available and how they compare with other technologies. I am forever on a quest of finding healthier alternatives that produce similar results.  I love to get to know, learn from, and laugh with my clients.

I Visited the Davines Headquarters in Parma, Italy with full access to behind the scenes of the making and creation of Davines Hair Care in 2019. It was an experience that confirmed my love for the brand. I have a creative focus, I love when clients are open to what I envision, but am also excited when they have a clear idea. I love to set realistic expectations and goals that have both the client’s lifestyle and hair health in mind.  I am inspired by my clients and what they have going on in their lives.  I love when clients bring inspiration photos to their appointments, and have different options for us to work with.

  • I have a small child and like to travel, so flexibility for me is key. I work select days and hours, with that I recommend booking at least your next appointment upon check out. If any obligations come up on my end I will  always reach out with as much notice as possible, as I would ask the same of my clients, and I promise I will go out of my way to offer the next best availability.

  • My consultations are a great way to meet and come up with a game plan for big or small changes. With big color transformations, I usually recommend multiple sessions if necessary. Bring inspo photos that have darker/lighter/warmer options. I always strive to come up with the healthiest way to achieve your goals, but love to aim for the dream color on the first shot if we can. I strive to make clients feel comfortable by checking in with them throughout the process as well as informing them of the how and why we might go about something a certain way. A lot goes into the process of what I do and I do a lot in what seems to be a short amount of time, which makes it seem to be “easy” at times, but this speed is a skill that has come with 14 years of the craft.  I LOVE products & tools. I will likely over-share with you which products and tools will work best with the investment in your color/ cut/ style. I will help you come up with a way to incorporate what you already have at home into your routine.

My journey in the beauty industry began in 2013 with cosmetology school, during which I also worked at Carlton Salon to gain practical experience. Over time, my skills and experience grew, leading me to my current position at Ashen Salon. I am a firm believer in continuous learning and staying updated with hair care and styling techniques. This commitment to furthering my education is not just for my personal growth, but also to instill confidence in my clients, ensuring they receive the best care and service.

I have been in the industry of hair for the past nine years. My journey began at the Aveda Institute in Denver, where I cultivated my passion for hair artistry. With a background in editorial and photo shoots, I bring a high-fashion-focused approach to my work, ensuring every client receives a trendy, timeless, and stylish transformation. I have worked Denver and Aspen Fashion week, have published work in SD Voyager Magazine, Urban Outfitters and was head stylist on a tutorial book on how to style curly hair. Continuing education and staying ahead of the latest trends are essential to my craft. In my free time, you will find me dedicating myself to attending  haircut and color classes. I have had the privilege of training with industry leaders such as Vidal Sassoon, Toni and Guy, Nine Zero One Salon, DV Color, Aveda, and Davines. I also love to teach and host haircutting classes for stylists in training. These experiences have honed my skills and expanded my knowledge, allowing me to offer cutting-edge techniques and contemporary styles to my clients.

    I do work 1-2 Saturdays per month by appointment only. Please reach out to myself or the salon and we will get you on the books!

    I schedule one hour for every haircut. If you have a lot of hair please let me or the salon know so I can schedule more time for you!

    My colors can take 2-4 hours depending on the service so please schedule accordingly.

Meet Karen

Born and raised in Mexico, I've been happily calling San Diego home for the last two decades. I am fluent in both Spanish and English, allowing me to connect with a diverse clientele. My journey in the world of hairstyling began with my graduation from Bellus Academy in 2013. Following my passion, I sharpened my skills at Ashen Salon from 2014 to 2017. Embarking on an entrepreneurial path, I successfully ran my own hair salon from 2017 to 2023. In 2020, I enhance my expertise by taking a Cutting and Color Course at Vidal Sassoon in Santa Monica. In 2023, I returned to my roots at Ashen Salon, bringing with me a solid decade of experience and a loyal clientele. My specialty lies in creating an array of blonde hues, sun kissed color, and seamless ombres. I am also skilled in working with brunettes, color correction, and a range of technical haircuts for men and women, including long layers, bobs, pixies, mullets, and creative haircutting styles.

Hey there, I'm Mia!

I'm proud to say I've been a part of the Ashen Salon family since 2004, and La Jolla has been my home since I started doing hair. When I'm not behind the chair, I'm embracing the joys of being a wife and a mother to four wonderful girls—a role that brings me endless happiness.

My journey in the world of hairstyling has been nothing short of amazing. What started as a passion has blossomed into a fulfilling profession. Over the past 15+ years, I've immersed myself in training, including programs with Rusk and Davines, among others. But I'm always hungry for more knowledge, attending classes and shows to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in hair, beauty, cosmetology, and esthetics.

Beyond my skills with scissors and color brushes, it's my easygoing, San Diegan personality and fun style that truly sets me apart. I love what I do, and I pour that love into every client interaction, making sure your time in my chair is not just about great hair, but also about feeling relaxed and cared for.

Hello! As a native San Diegan, my hairstyling journey began a decade ago at Robert Cromeans Salon in downtown. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work at various salons along the coast, finally finding my place at Ashen Salon years ago. I absolutely adore the atmosphere and the wonderful people I work with at my Ashen home!

There, I honed my skills and artistic flair. Returning to San Diego, I further enriched my expertise at A Robert Cromeans Salon, participating in numerous fashion shows and events.

Since 2011, I've been proudly serving clients at Ashen Salon. My certification in extensions showcases my precision and natural blending skills. However, my true forte lies in attentive listening, enabling me to craft personalized color formulations that uniquely fit each client's desires.

Currently in transition to the real estate industry, Kaylyn is still welcoming new clients for color and extensions, though with a slightly adjusted schedule. Meet Danna

I've been licensed since 2015. Started my career at Expressions Beauty salon where I spent 1 year learning everything hands on while assisting my fellow stylists. Soon after, I redirected my focus towards men's haircuts and started working at Sport Clips in 2016 - 2019 where I became well trained with barbering techniques while also attending various trainings with scissor cuts, clipper fades, and beard detailing. My focus has always been to learn and master new techniques and do it all. From hairstyling bridal events and makeup, to all kinds of haircuts and custom color. I prioritize my ever going education and online courses focusing on the latest trends and techniques, with workshops like Masters of Balayage, The Blonde Chronicles, Jacob Khan, and more.

Meet Michael

I am originally born and raised in New Jersey and started my hair career in 2002 by attending the Aveda Institute in Florida. While still attending the Institute, I was scouted by World renowned educator Carolyn Miko. This opportunity allowed me to work behind a chair before even graduating. I moved to San Diego in 2012 and got the golden opportunity to assist with hair for the soap opera “All My Children.” Later on, I worked in Beverly Hills and learned valuable razor cut and haircut techniques from educator Nick Arrojo.

I’ve recently won Masters of Balayage Top 50 in the world for best blonde balayage and Top 10 for Bellami Hair Extensions. I specialize in all color transformations but my passion is Blonde and Platinum projects.

Meet Vanessa

Hi, I’m Vanessa! I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2014. I’m a Colorado mountain girl at heart who’s fully embraced my inner beach vibes since moving to San Diego. Hair has been my passion for as long as I can remember—whether it was styling my parents' friends' hair or helping my own friends get prom-ready, I’ve always felt this is what I was meant to do.

My ultimate goal is to help my clients feel gorgeous while keeping their hair healthy and strong. I love building genuine connections and getting to know the people in my chair—it’s about more than hair; it’s about the experience.

When I’m not behind the chair, you’ll find me dancing, at concerts, or soaking up the sun at the beach. If you’re looking for a stylist who’s passionate, personable, and dedicated to giving you the hair of your dreams, I’m your girl!

Hello, I’m Vivian! I have been in the hair industry since 2016.  I’m passionate about helping my clients feel confident and radiant from the moment they step out of my chair. As a San Diego native, I bring a unique blend of artistry and expertise to every appointment.

I specialize in creating seamless, lived-in balayage, stunning all-over color, teasy lights, dimensional highlights, and beautifully layered cuts. Using top-tier products like Schwarzkopf and Redken, I’m committed to delivering results that are both gorgeous and long-lasting. Continuously striving to refine my skills, I stay at the forefront of industry trends to offer my clients the best.

Outside of the salon, you’ll find me hiking, working out, or embarking on new adventures. Traveling to tropical destinations is one of my biggest inspirations—the vibrant colors and serene landscapes often influence my creative vision.

Meet Jacqueline

Hello there! I’m Jackie—short for Jacqueline, but you can call me Jackie. I’m a proud San Diego native. With many years under my belt as a licensed cosmetologist, I graduated from Bellus Academy in 2012 and started my journey in the world of barbershops. I was lucky enough to work closely with Rhys at Jet Rhys Hair Salon, where I refined my precision haircutting skills through their stellar assistant program.

My mission as a stylist is all about connection and communication. I love getting to know my clients so I can truly understand their unique hair needs and deliver a look that makes them shine. Can’t wait to meet you and work together to create your perfect style!

  • I’m all about precision and style—whether you’re into sharp haircuts, killer blowouts, or bold transformations. My specialties include precision haircuts, bobs, lobs, curly hair, long layered cuts, and even mullets. For the guys, I’ve got you covered with scissor and clipper cuts.

    When it comes to color, I handle everything from men's gray blending and coverage to women’s gray blending, and highlights.If you’re into low-maintenance color and effortless style, we’ll get along just fine. Let's create something amazing together! I do like to start with a consultation before we get into your appointment to make sure we’re on the same page.

  • I’m in the salon Wednesday to Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM to 3 PM. As a mom, my schedule might occasionally shift, but I’ll always give you a heads-up if any changes are needed.

    For appointments, please call the front desk, or feel free to reach out to me personally via text only.

  • For every appointment with me, you can expect a thorough consultation to dive into your needs and goals. I always encourage bringing inspirational photos to help me understand your vision. If you’re a new client, I might reach out via text before our appointment to ask a few questions about your hair and request photos, ensuring I’m fully prepared.

    Please note, color appointments can take anywhere from 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on the service.

Meet Megan

My journey as a stylist began in 2016 at Rudy and Kelly, A Paul Mitchell Partner School, in Virginia Beach, VA. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work in diverse settings—from an Aveda salon in Beaufort, SC, to establishing myself in a high-end salon in Swansboro, NC. Now, I’m proud to have planted roots in the beautiful city of San Diego.

At the start of my career, I spent some time assisting in a prestigious salon in Virginia, where my passion for blonding truly began. In North Carolina, I was honored to be nominated as Favorite Local Hairstylist in the 2021 Carteret Curated People’s Choice Awards. I prioritize staying on the cutting edge of the industry by continuously investing in my education, with training from Masters of Balayage, Ash Fortis, Aveda, Unite, Blonde Chronicles, and more.

I’m dedicated to providing my clients with an exceptional, fun-filled experience, tailoring each look to highlight your unique beauty. My mission is to make you feel confident and beautiful inside and out.
